It was a close first quarter as Newtown scored the opening goal three minutes into the game. But Staples would go on a 4-1 run and never look back, defeating Newtown, 13-5. Senior, Connor Chamberlin, had a huge game for Staples, scoring four goals giving him 33 on the season.
